Through a new partnership with the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy in San Francisco, 10 SCA program participants from the Bay Area have the opportunity to gain hands-on conservation experience.
Participants are working behind the scenes throughout the year across multiple departments, including Stewardship and Engagement, Nurseries, Data Management, Development and Policy.
Since 1981, the Parks Conservancy has worked with the National Park Service and Presidio Trust to provide over $685 million in support to the Golden Gate National Parks, including Alcatraz, Muir Woods and the Presidio, to more than 30 other national park sites north and south of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The SCA launched its first community conservation program in the Bay Area in 1977. Since then, hundreds of local youth have participated in the SCA’s Bay Area Urban Green programs.
