Filter Design #1. How Lowpass, Highpass, Bandpass & Bandstop Separate Desired & Unwanted Signals.
A microwave filter is a passive electronic component designed to selectively pass or reject specific frequency ranges within the microwave spectrum. It is used to control signal frequencies in RF (Radio Frequency) and microwave systems, ensuring that only desired frequencies are transmitted or received while attenuating unwanted ones.
Key Functions of Microwave Filters:
Pass desired frequencies (e.g., in communication systems).
Block or attenuate unwanted frequencies (interference or noise).
Improve signal quality by reducing out-of-band signals.
Prevent signal distortion in receivers and transmitters.
Low Pass filter allow low-frequency signals without any attenuation (decrease in power) but it rejects any high-frequency signals
Allows high frequency signals to pass without any attenuation in its amplitude & blocks (rejects) any low-frequency signal is called high pass filter.
This type of filter allows a specific band of frequencies & blocks any other frequencies lower or higher than its passband frequencies.
This type of filter attenuates the signal whose frequencies lies in a fixed band of frequencies.
