The southern edge of Chonburi forms a deep natural bay protected by surrounding hills and nearby islands, including Ko Tao Mo, Ko Yo, and the Samaesan group.
The geography provides calm water and reliable deep channels that support the Royal Thai Navy’s main base.
South of the port the coastline leads to Chong Samaesan Village.
