NZ Falcon

I've been chasing these awesome birds for some time now. So many people have told me they see them here, they see them there etc. etc. and yet like the kid in Polar Express who can't hear the sleigh bells, I never seem to see them! Although I know they frequent my property and I do have a very dodgy iPhone snap of one sitting a few meters away from me on one of my driveway gates!

Finally after a tip off I found this Young female and was able to photograph and film her, mindful of the fact she is sitting on eggs I didn't want to disturb her too much and this is all shot on a Canon 800mm lens using the Canon R5MKll.

These amazing birds can fly at speeds of up to 200 kmh and hunt and feed on the wing. I would love to catch some aerial feed hand offs, but time will tell if I succeed.

In the meantime enjoy this quickly cobbled together three shot clip, I wasn't intending to shoot film as such and so I didn't have my proper mic with me hence the lousy sound!
