Course Summary
The course is 5000m (5k) long. The course is at Exeter Quay & River Valley Park, Exeter. The course is run on a mixture of tarmac paths, gravel paths and grass
Course Description
Start & finish is by the Red & White Buoy at south end of Exeter Quay, around a 5 minute walk from Quayside car parks.The route is a flat, out and back course using shared public footpaths towards and then into Riverside Valley Park, to a turnaround point and then back along the same route to the finish. The route is marked with temporary hi-viz signs & marshals in place. The paths are tarmac, and gravel, which can be uneven and wet in places.Please give way to other footpath users and stay to the left unless directed otherwise. Participants must avoid the cycle path at the start by staying to the right on the first 800m.Except assistance dogs there are no dogs allowed.

Facilities
Parking: car parking on a pay & display basis is available on both sides of the Quay: Haven Banks car park, EX2 8DP (300 spaces) is on the south side and is close to the start, Cathedral & Quay car park, EX1 1DX (400 spaces) is on the north side and is a 5 to 10 minute walk to the start. Both car parks have disabled spaces.Public Toilets: including disabled (Radar key scheme) are available on the Quay nr Butts Ferry crossing, 5 minutes from the start.Refreshments: there are lots of places to get a drink or something to eat on the Quay. Play Areas: the Quay is adjacent to lots of open space where children can play or ride bikes, there is also a small playground a few minutes away.Other Activities: include the Quay Climbing Centre and Haven Banks Outdoor Pursuit Centre. Bikes and canoes etc. can be hired from local traders.
Getting There
Public transport: Bus: The nearest bus station is Paris Street Terminus in the centre of the town, from there it is a 1 mile walk through the City Centre to the Quay following the tourist signs.Train: The nearest station is Exeter Central, from there it is a 1 mile walk following tourist signs to the Quay. From Exeter St David's mainline station it is just under 2 miles walk to the Quay using the excellent river footpath.
On foot: On reaching the Historic Quay area head towards the tall outside climbing tower, the start is 100mtrs away on the spit of land between the canal and the river next to the large landmark buoy.
By road: The Quay area is close to Exeter city centre.
From all directions initially follow signs to City Centre and then to Exeter Historic Quay.Car parking on a pay & display basis is available on both sides of the Quay:
