In this DADx Talk we highlight the importance of supporting lone parents, the transformative power of community support, and explore the ground-breaking Small Talk Project, whose innovative approach helps engage and uplift fathers.
For over two years, the Mental Health Foundation has been collaborating with Dads Rock as part of their Small Talk Project, which is designed to help isolated parents find support and connection in their community. This initiative, in partnership with 7 amazing organizations, has truly helped parents who might otherwise struggle to access supportive peer networks.
While the project benefits all lone parents, the collaboration with Dads Rock specifically focuses on engaging and uplifting fathers who may feel disconnected from traditional support networks.

• Gill Meens from the Mental Health Foundation introduces the Small Talk Framework and how it’s being adapted across Scotland to provide vital support.
• Greg Borthwick of Dads Rock, a co-creator of the framework shared powerful insights on how they’ve used these principles to engage young dads in meaningful ways.
