Chicken cordon bleu
Ingredients:
500g boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 packs slices ham
2 pack slices cheese ( cheddar cheese)
1 cup all-purpose flour
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup breadcrumbs
Cooking oil for frying
Chicken Seasonings | Spices
1 tsp salt
½ tsp ground black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
½ tsp paprika (optional) mixed all together
For the sauce: White Sauce
1tbps unsalted butter
1tbps of all purpose flour
1 cup of milk
1cup of all purpose cream
1tbps of yellow mustard sauce
Salt to taste
White pepper powder
Dried parsley (Garnished) optional
Procedure:
Prepare the Chicken:
Slice each chicken breast horizontally (but not all the way through) (butterfly cut). Please watch the video
Place the chicken between two plastic wraps and gently pound it using a meat mallet or rolling pin until about ¼-inch thick.
2. Add Filling:
Season both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
Place a slice of ham and cheese in the center of each chicken breast...
Carefully roll the chicken tightly, ensuring the cheese stays inside.
3.Coat the Chicken:
Dredge the rolled chicken in flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs. (Ensure even coating)
4. Frying
For frying: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the chicken rolls for about 5-8 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain excess oil on kitchen towel to absorb the excess oil..
For baking: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the coated chicken rolls on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
5. Serve:
Let it rest for a few minutes, then slice into rounds. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or a creamy mustard sauce....
