Syd Hansen (Melina Kanakaredes) is a big-name plastic surgeon in L.A. She moves back to her home town where she cares for her family, works in a free clinic, and hopes to rekindle her love life. 'Providence' (1999) ran for five seasons and NBC was ready to do six but some of the cast decided to move on. In the US and Canada the opening theme was the Beatles song 'In My Life', performed by Chantal Kreviazuk. Everyone else heard 'You Make Me Home' by show composer Tim Truman, sung by Angelica Hayden. All home video releases use Truman's song, most likely due to licensing issues for the Beatles tune.
