In a star-studded clash featuring numerous Power 5 commits and future NFL draft picks, Will Van Pamelen’s overtime field goal sealed a dramatic 23-20 victory for Grayson over Roswell in the first-ever Class 7A championship game—and the final high school game ever played in the Georgia Dome. Roswell led 13-6 at halftime thanks to a tough defense anchored by future NFL pick Xavier McKinney. Trailing in the fourth quarter, Clemson commit Chase Brice connected with Jaquarrius Lane for a 62-yard touchdown, but Grayson missed the PAT. The Rams took their first lead with 1:04 remaining on another Brice-to-Lane 27-yard touchdown and two-point conversion. Roswell’s Malik Willis tied the game on the last play of regulation with a 20-yard touchdown pass to Kendall Barber. Van Pamelen’s clutch overtime field goal secured Grayson’s second state title after Roswell’s kick sailed wide.
