http://www.ritareys.eu France, 1972: Rita Reys and Michel Legrand meet to talk about the Edison Award winning and Gold Certified album Rita Reys Sings Michel Legrand. Legrand, who also attended the recordings of the album, thanks her "for the wonderful present you gave me" and compliments Rita about her performance and interpretation of his repertoire. The album, that features Toots Thielemans on harmonica and Louis van Dijk on piano, includes some of Legrand's finest songs, such as Once Upon A Summertime and I Will Wait For You.

In the 70's Rita Reys, originally a jazz singer, recorded the repertoire Burt Bacharach and Michel Legrand, two popular composers in those days in the easy listening genre. They were very much impressed by the results, both by Rita's performance as by the orchestra arrangements by Rogier van Otterloo.

Watch What Happens is one of Michel Legrand's best known songs, which was performed as well for example by Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughan and Oscar Peterson. It was on Rita's repertoire until the end of her career.
