DIY Simple Easel - Great for Painting Classes!

Need : (1 - 8' X 1"X 2"),(2 - #6, 2" screws),(1 - #10, 3 1/2" screw), (16" of cable or twine), Stapler, drill, 1/8" & 3/8" drill bits, screwdriver, sandpaper.
Cut one 8' long 1"X 2" board into 3 - 25" and 1 - 20 1/2" pieces.
Cut a 3/4" 45° angle bevel on one end of a 25" piece.
Drill a centered hole on the 1 1/2" surface, 3/4" from the beveled end.
Drill 3/8" hole 3/4" deep, 2" in from the ends of the 20 1/2" piece.
The angled piece of wood I used as a drill gauge was made by laying out the pieces for the front of the easel, marking a scrap piece of 1"X 3" and cutting it to the angle.
Drill an angled 3/8" hole in one end of a 25" piece.
Drill an angled 1/8" hole in one end of the other 25" piece.
Sand all rough edges.
Screw 20 1/2" piece with 2" #6 screws 2 1/2" from the bottoms of the legs. Screws countersink into the 3/8", 3/4" deep holes, and screw into the ends of the 2 - 25" pieces opposite the ends with angled holes.
Place the Bevel end facing up of the 3rd 25" piece between the 2 ends with the angled holes. Run a #10 - 3 1/2" screw through the 3 pieces starting on the side with the 3/8" angled hole, going through the beveled piece with a 3/8" hole, and securing into the piece with a 1/8" hole.
Staple a piece of picture cable or nylon twine approximately 16" to the kick stand and bottom of the easel.
