This is the third video in my series “Walks in Hampshire” with my Whippet, Logan. In this episode, I visit the pretty village of Rockbourne and surrounding countryside.
My circular route starts in the village itself with a look at the Church (St Andrews) and Manor House before heading North over some stunning chalkland downs. After a chance meeting with a Hare (!), I get to enjoy some beautiful bluebell woods, see the Sir Eyre Coote Monument and come across some Rough Fell sheep before heading back in to the village to look at some stunning thatched properties – ending up at The Rose & Thistle Pub. I am very fortunate that this route is within walking distance of my home.
A few people have suggested that the opening at the base of the West wall of St Andrews Church may be a crypt or burial vault. I suspect it is currently being used as storage space, hence the tiles stacked up?
For some reason, I use the word “gorgeous” a few too many times in the video – apologies for that!
