Hello!
This is Part 1 of my 75 gallon hillstream tank build. In this video I explain the rationale behind this project and show you the first steps of building a river manifold using PVC pipe to achieve unidirectional water flow at a high rate in a 75 gallon tank.
I am currently setting up the tank as a hillstream (fast flowing) style biotope to simulate the natural conditions in which these fish are found in the wild. Although it is possible to keep hillstream loaches in community aquariums at tropical temperatures, they seem to be more active in a fast flow environment with cooler water, in which they have evolved specific adaptations to live.
The manifold will be used for circulation and also filtration of this aquarium.
