Summary of WBCHSE Notifications (January 2026)
1. Guidelines for Conduct of Higher Secondary Practical & Project Examinations, 2026

The Higher Secondary Practical and Project Examinations 2026 (Semester & Old Yearly System) will be held from 02 March 2026 to 23 March 2026.

Practical examinations will be conducted by the existing subject teachers of the institution.

Statistics (STAT) practical examination will be held on 06 March 2026 (Friday) from 12:00 noon to 3:00 PM.

Blank answer scripts and practical question papers will be distributed through camps on 28 January 2026.

There will be no practical question paper for PHED/HPED; examinations will be conducted as per syllabus and rubrics.

If a subject teacher is unavailable, a teacher from a neighboring school may be appointed with prior permission from the Regional Office.

Candidates who have already passed the H.S. Practical Examination under the Old System need not reappear.

Examiner’s signature and counter-signature of the Head of Institution on answer scripts are mandatory.

Evaluated practical answer scripts and project copies will be kept safely at the institution and submitted only when asked.

Practical and project marks must be uploaded online through the Council portal between 05 March 2026 and 28 March 2026.

Hard copies of marks foils are not required to be submitted.

Only two-digit marks can be entered; absent candidates should be marked as “AB”.

For any queries, Heads of Institutions should contact the respective Regional Offices.

2. Notification Regarding CWSN Candidates – Extra Time / Writer / Interpreter

Heads of Institutions are informed about provisions for Children With Special Needs (CWSN) appearing in the H.S. Examination 2026.

Eligible candidates may avail extra time, with or without writer/interpreter, as per Council norms.

Applications must be submitted online through the Council portal after the issue of Admit Cards.

Required details include candidate information, writer’s details (qualification not above Class XI), and mobile numbers.

Upload of writer’s photograph (JPEG) and CWSN certificate or permission letter (PDF) is mandatory.

For candidates requiring an interpreter, interpreter details must also be uploaded.

Application status must be changed from “WIP” to “COMPLETE” for forwarding to the Regional Office.

For extra time without writer, the same procedure applies except writer/interpreter details.

Permission letters will be generated online after verification and approval by the Regional Office.
