Gibson L48 Restoration, part 6: Fret Replacement

This segment of the Gibson archtop restoration series illustrates my process for replacing frets. The job gets a little more complicated than some because we are dealing with an old rosewood fretboard. As is often the case with old fretboards, particularly rosewood, some of the fret slots were worn to the point that the frets did not seat securely in the slots. My choices were to either use fret wire with a wider tang, or to glue the frets in place. I chose to glue them because that would still leave the wider tang option for a future fret replacement.
As I proceeded through the process I tried to show each of the tools necessary to complete the job.
