The Little Match Girl is a timeless fairy tale by the 19th-century Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. It depicts one short yet profoundly moving night in the life of a young girl who survives by selling matches on a freezing New Year’s Eve street. Surrounded by human indifference and harsh reality, she strikes her matches one by one to warm her trembling body. With in those tiny flames appear visions of a warm stove, a table filled with food, and the loving image of her beloved grandmother.
Though filled with sorrow, the story is not merely a tale of tragedy. It quietly asks deeper questions about the power of imagination, the memory of loved ones, and the salvation of the soul. The contrast between the coldness of reality and the warmth of fleeting visions leaves a lasting resonance in the reader’s heart, allowing the story to be passed down through generations. In this work, that world is re-imagined through song and imagery, and offered as a story that gently lights the heart.
Faithfully interpreting the spirit of Andersen’s original, this is a three-part multimedia story that weaves together song, visuals, and narrative.
In Episode One, the girl’s lonely existence—ignored by all in a cold and unforgiving world—is portrayed through quiet music and realistic imagery.
　In Episode Two, the small flames of the matches reveal fleeting dreams and moments of warmth: an iron stove, a welcoming table, and a shining Christmas tree. Because these visions can never become reality, they linger all the more beautifully and painfully in the heart.
　Then comes Episode Three. The reunion with her grandmother within the flame becomes the girl’s final salvation. Cold, hunger, and fear fade away, and she rises gently, embraced only by kindness—depicted as a quiet and peaceful transcendence.
This work is not created to emphasize sorrow. Rather, it is an attempt to gently lift into the light a small life that went unseen, yet undeniably held its own glow, through music and imagery.

Enka captures the essence of love, parting, and heartfelt emotions with powerful yet delicate vocals.
