From Wohlen to Fahrwangen-Meisterschwanden in 1989

The unedited film languished for 35 years in the attic. The footage was all unsharp, because of a fault in the camera. Against hope, I kept dreaming that one day software would be able to fix focus issues, and... well, it now is!

Thank you, TensorPix! Their software (https://app.tensorpix.ai) recovered enough of the focus of virtually all scenes recorded from outside of the train. Enough for me to have a basis to do the rest of the work on. The shots of the views from the inside remain problematic, and I kept them really short in this edit, so they don't have much time to register. It sort of works.

I am really, really happy to see this again, now. The line has been history for over 25 years, and there is very little on the internet about this line. Pictures: yes. Moving pictures: hardly any.

The line itself? One of the more unspectacular Swiss private railway companies. Mainly unmountainous terrain. A single line mostly next to a busy road (much like the Seethal line, in fact). Starting in Wohlen, where goods traffic was important, and passing through the small villages of Villmergen, Hilfikon and Sarmenstorf, it ended up on the outskirts of Fahrwangen. The ultimate goal of reaching Meisterschwanden on the shore of Lake Hallwil was never attained, although a station buiding was erected there. It was probably that which ultimately pushed the WM over the edge.

Ah, well. What's done is done. It won't ever return, as virtually everything is gone.
