Mat’s flown over to the Monza circuit in Italy, and he’s about to be put to the test out on track!

Racing driver Sam has joined him for the trip, and he’s got his hands on a Porsche 911 GT3 RS. However, along with the standard GT3 RS, he’s also got his hands on a Manthey Racing GT3 RS, and he’s going to see if the upgrades on the Manthey Racing edition will enable him to beat Sam out on track!

In terms of the standard GT3 RS, it’s powered by a 4-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six engine that can deliver 525hp and 465Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it weighs in at just 1,450kg.

The Manthey Racing edition comes with the same engine and power output, but it has had an eye-watering £100,000 worth of aero and suspension upgrades to really enhance performance out on track. Up front, there’s a longer, protruding front splitter, along with new air smoothers along the side of the car. On the roof, there are additional air guides, and there’s the Manthey rear wheel disc to stop air escaping from under the car. The underside of the car is also as smooth as possible.

However, it’s at the back where the upgrades are most noticeable! In place of the rear window is a carbon fibre panel and a huge fin to help direct air flow. There’s also an absolutely massive wing with huge panels on either side, again designed to keep air flow as smooth as possible. Finally, underneath there’s an even bigger & longer diffuser.

All of these upgrades help to produce 20% more downforce while not increasing drag at the same time! The question is, will £100,000 of upgrades enable Mat to beat Sam’s time? You’ll need to stick with them both and see for yourself!
