The government has launched a fund to assist victims of the Faza Island fire disaster. Prime Minister Raila Odinga announced this when he toured the area to console residents whose property was razed in the inferno on Saturday, leaving at least over 2,000 people shelter less. The government has also dispatched architects, town planners and quantity surveyors to re-plan the Faza village and get rid of the Makuti houses that easily catch fire.
