Abdominal muscles are key muscles to be strengthened for core strength. The external oblique, internal oblique, and transversus abdominis muscles are involved in compression of the abdomen, rotation of the trunk, and lateral flexion of trunk. The attachment of these muscles are to the following structures: ribs 7-12, anterior aspect of the iliac crest, pubic bone, and linea alba.
