Saturday 13th December marked the end of service for the iconic Class 43 HST's in England!
They have been a staple sight along the English main line for a remarkable 49 years, entering service in 1976 and becoming a much loved sight on the rails right up until the present day! They will be sorely missed by many after such a long life running along the British rails from the original slam door MK3 Coaches to the more recent sliding door MK3 sets
I tried to capture as much content as possible on their final day of service from a variety of locations,, including a very unexpected ride behind 43156 & 43189 along the Newquay Branch Line, which was an unplanned service due to150246 failing during the morning, which resulted in the HST set being drafted in from its main line duties to substitute for the failed DMU for the rest of the day which was definitely a very welcome surprise for many, including myself!
Thankyou for watching!
Hope you enjoy the video ☺️
