This is the third week of the federal government’s takeover of the District of Columbia.

The streets are being patrolled by National Guard, men and women from many southern states with Republican governors, the FBI and ice agents who are now armed.

I have friends who live in Maryland Prince George’s County who are afraid to travel to Washington DC for fear of being stopped or targeted in a police checkpoint.

I’ve heard stories of two Howard University students who were picked up and detained for not having ID on their person and that the parent of one of these students had to drive four hours to Washington DC to rescue her child from this unfair detainment.

What psychological impact will this have on these young freshman as well as other students attending schools in the District of Columbia?

The big news story today is the mass shooting in a Minneapolis Catholic church and school which left two children dead and 17 people injured.

This is the 340th mass shooting of 2025.

Each time there is a mass shooting in this country. I get calls text and emails from friends in Africa concerning my safety.

I want to hear from you. I want to hear what’s on your mind.

I don’t want to just hear about problems. I’d like to hear about solutions and resolutions to problems.

I’d like to hear from federal workers who have been fired or laid off.

I’d like to hear from people who have been stopped in DC by federal officers.

I’d like to hear from DC police officers and what they think about the takeover of Washington DC by federal forces.
