Yoga Quickies. Abdominal Action in Ubhaya Padangusthasana and Dandasana. Two short yoga tutorials to help you with the abdominal action in some of the asanas. First Lin teaches Ubhaya Padangusthasana; an intermediate level pose which requires long hamstrings, good balance and an understanding of the moving back of the abdomen. Many students will find this a difficult action but the relatively simple pose of Dandasana, which Leo then teaches, will help you develop your strength and flexibility as well as your understanding of the actions.
Both poses will work the deep abdominal muscles, the legs, hands, arms and shoulders. These poses will aid core strength, flexibility and posture.

If you follow the first video with Lin, please be aware that this is Intermediate yoga, (for those who have an established, mature practice and are ready to tackle some of the more challenging poses). Remember that we also post Complete Beginners Yoga routines, (for those who are new to the subject), and short Beginners sequences (for those who know the basics of the subject). You need your mat and if new to Dandasana it will help to have two foam pads and two yoga bricks for the hands. If you find any of the poses difficult, you can look the poses up in our Yoga Pose Directory, which we are adding to all the time.These tutorials will teach the poses in more detail and sometimes with extra props.
