In this upload we drive from Bayonne NJ to Washington DC in the 2019 Bolt EV. I left with a little less than a full battery (193 mile estimated average). Door to door the trip was about 220/230 miles. The Bolt EV has an EPA estimated range of 238 miles per charge... Will we make it???
This was my first long trip in a full EV vehicle and I have to say it went very well. The Bolt drives great even with three passengers are luggage for a week stay in DC. Even with the extra weight the power felt the same as well as the handling.
At highway speeds of 65/70 mph, the extra weight, and 60 degree temps we achieved about 3.4 miles per kilowatt hour on the highway and totaled an average of 3.8 once we arrived in DC.
