NARROWBOAT PACEMAKER REFLOATED AND LIFTED OUT FOR INSPECTION! Interview With Paul The Boat Owner

Two updates in one day! Well, a lot happened today! As you saw in the previous video, the narrowboat "Pacemaker" was winched to safety from the Llangollen canal breach, here at Whitchurch! But things didn't end there, of course! Portadam wasted no time reinstalling a new cofferdam on the breach side of the lift bridge. This was to allow water to be let in, via a hole in the cofferdam, in between the two cofferdams and the narrowboat "Pacemaker" refloated. By about 1pm, "Pacemaker" was refloating. Then it was time for Portadam to remove the old Cofferdam so "Pacemaker" could then escape back onto the Llangollen canal. Once that one was removed, they then immediately started work on a new cofferdam to replace the big old one, just past the lift bridge. But "Pacemaker" isn't 100% safe yet, it needs to be quickly taken out of the water and inspected, so Whitchurch marina, sent a ABC hire boat down to tow"Pacemaker" to the hire base, where it was then lifted out for a quick inspection and is now being helded above the water, just incase, there is a hole in its hull, that water could get in.

On the other side of the breach, the Grindley Brook side, the spider digger was preparing that side for the winching of the other two boats, still stuck in the bottom of the breach.

We also have an interview with Paul, the owner of the narrowboat "Pacemaker", to see how he feels about his home, being winched and refloated and somewhat safe again.
