This small kit from Allied Radio only cost around $12 in the late 1950's. Its crystal microphone was another $2. Many of these kits were sold. My example is beat up: one destroyed 50C5 tube and another 50C5 that tests bad. The microphone has seen better days too. Maybe someday I'll try to get it working. There's a lot of information available on the internet about these. I'll link to a couple of them, but you can find more too.
