How to Paint Wet in Wet Using Bold Colours - Easy Step by Step Watercolor Painting Tutorial

Enjoy this easy watercolour painting tutorial of bold and beautiful summer figs. In this video I want to show you how to use a simple limited palette and paint wet in wet in one layer to achieve some wonderful effects with watercolours. The shapes of the fruit and the leaves are very simple and the tutorial is easy to follow so it is perfect for beginners.


For this project I was inspired by the delicious and abundant figs that grow in and around the Mediterranean coast and the Black Sea. I wanted to create a sense of spontaneity in the picture so it was done in one afternoon, only waiting for the masking fluid and some of the elements to dry before continuing.

Using a limited palette means working with just a few colors, which helps maintain harmony and makes the painting process easier. Despite the simplicity, you can achieve a wide range of tones and depth, especially when painting the rich hues of figs and their lush green leaves.
Using bold colors, your painting will have a dynamic and lively quality that captures the essence of summer figs. Select colors that complement each other and reflect the natural vibrancy of summer figs. Deep purples and rich greens work beautifully together, while subtle touches of blue or yellow can add interest and variation.

The key is to use bold, confident strokes and embrace the fluidity of watercolor.
