On the 8th of November, 2025, African Union University - AUU International held its conference in partnership with Daaru Salaam University. The Conference began with open prayers and welcome remarks from the President of AUU International, Professor Ehi Eric Esoimeme and the Vice President of AUU International, Professor Paul Allieu Kamara. The Conference also featured Statements from representatives of the AUU International Consortium, including the Vice President of the University of Management - TISBI, the Chancellor of Daaru Salaam University and the Director of Postgraduate Studies of Hamar University. The highlight of the Conference were the topical presentations on the Future of Anti-Money Laundering Compliance and Financial Crime Compliance. The first speaker, Professor Solomon Ediriverere Esomu Ph.D, Post Ph.D, DBA, DrAPO, JP, COREN, MNSE,MCPN, NIEEE,FPET,FCIML,FCMP, FCM,FCE,AICEA, AIPET, AICA, AICPAM, AUUI DEAN OF FACULTY OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING demonstrated how Fraud Related Offences can be investigated Using Traditionally Programmed Systems and Artificial Intelligence" while the second speaker, Professor Abdi Adan Osman, Vice Chancellor for admin and Finance and Legal Advisor, Daaru Salaam University and Researcher enhanced our Understanding on Academic Fraud: Typologies, Risks and Mitigation Strategies. The third speaker, Lehana Nel, Forensic Accountant at TS Advisory and Consulting, extensively discussed the Evolving Anti-Money Laundering Trends and Regulations while the fourth speaker, Prof. Ehi Eric Esoimeme Esq., LLB, BL, LLM, JD, HC, PhD, DProfQAHE, ICA, CAMC, CCO, CPRM, CRA, CFIP, FGAFM, FCACC, FERP, FIMC, HON. FQAHE, Director of Academics and International Relations, and Chairperson of the Academic Board of AUU International, examined the Potential Misuse Of Artificial Intelligence To Circumvent Technology-Based Processes For AML/CFT Compliance In The Cryptocurrency Ecosystem. The last speaker, Professor Paul Allieu Kamara, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy at Rudolph Kwanue University and Dean of Faculty of Management Sciences at African Union University, presented on the Future of Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Compliance in Sierra Leone. It was a very insightful Conference filled with thought provoking discussions and strategic recommendations.
