Welcome to my second/back to back WORLD RECORD and the FIRST sub 31 minute speedrun of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger Any% ever completed with final time of 30min 57.45s My name is SirLaurenceNZ (aka Lawn) and I am delighted to share this game I've become fiercely passionate about since mid January 2021.

After starting the game in mid January, I was graciously accepted into the Ty speedrunning community on discord and invited to race with the four fastest active runners. This invigorated my sense of competition with the game and gave me a drive to push past them after several weeks of racing on what we called Ty Tuesdays.

After our regular racing had ceased, I'd established myself as one of the fastest active runners in the game behind KamaCrimson and KorlKiller, however over the coming months with a dip in activity and a broken controller, I sat back theorising and cheering Kama and Korl on from the side, teaching people how to run and dreaming of taking that world record Kama had run away with (he had a 90s gap on 2nd of ages and then a 40s gap right as my controller gave out.)

Eventually though I knew I had to challenge it myself, I was analytical enough, I was creative enough and most of all I was confident enough to sink hundreds of hours into mastering the game to match and surpass Kama holding him off the Ty Any% WR for nearly a week of solid attempts as of writing.

Yes it sounds like I'm hyping it up, and yes I am! But dammit I won't stand by idly letting Kama hold a total World Record sweep of all the main Ty1 categories, the man set out to conquer Ty2 and he's taken the Ty2 WR by over 20 seconds now. Alongside me, Korl has knocked Kama off the 51TE no ground swim WR and we intend to take the 51TE ground swim and 100% as well. Simply put, Kama has driven us towards a higher skill ceiling and now that I'm here I intend to make my mark on the game.

Got stuck when turning to get inside ship, then dove onto my seahorses from button.

Walk (1min 59.5s) 0.0
Zero means I golded, so I guess it was pog 11 (11 = lol from AoE2.)

Bull (1min 44.4s) 1.5
I can't figure out why I keep losing 1-4s here, idk if it's my reveals or what.

Bridge (4min 10.2) 3.5
Unfortunate crikey positions and awkward Neddy fight, rest was super solid.

Outback (3min 37.1) 0.0
I finally got a good emu on an okay run 11, I've been 10s ahead of this pace before but the emus and general outback movement was super good. Pretty sure I can get a high 9:20 emu in a run eventually!

Snow (4min 43.2 ) 3.4
Ledge grabbed for bilby 1 and played Yabby a touch safe. Had a good scope-less Spider recovery, then proceeded to miss basket jump 11 (my gold doesn't have Lawnswim somehow 11.)

Crikey (1min 3.8) 2.3
Crikey decided to chomp the water which I'd just left. Basically standard procedure to lose time too that 11.

Gate/Pass (1min 13.3) 6.7
Gate skip went off near perfect. Cass pass on the overhand was my single largest throw, with three attempts needed. I ended up getting it third try costing me around 7.5s and the potential first sub 30:50, but hey I guess Kama's WR lost 6.5s on crest so I guess it's tradition!

Dead Bird (3min 55.3s) 2.4
Lost 0.7 to a point blank wire throw somehow and then played it safe with my scraping (compared to usual) Pretty sure my gold is community best by 1-2s with my scrapes due to past Cheat% WR's


So yeah That is my 30:57.45 (give or take a frame.)
