Previously working at @TACKLEWORLDAUSTRALIA Charlotte saw how deeply connected Territorians are to our coasts. Whether it’s a quiet cast at sunrise on the Harbour or a epic trip down the Roper River, , life here always leads back to the water.
While much of Charlotte's story has beautiful footage of Darwin Harbour, it focuses on the plight of the Roper River. The Roper is a truly wild river, but it faces huge pressure from cotton, mining expansion. Massive water extraction and pollution could devastate everything, from fish and birdlife to the health of downstream places like the Limmen Bight Marine Park.
Charlotte says we’re lucky to still have unspoilt rivers and coasts, but warns it won’t stay that way if we don't act to protect it.
💚 This is a story about what’s at stake when we risk our rivers and why protecting water means protecting our way of life.
