Keep Top End Coasts Healthy
Keep Top End Coasts Healthy is an alliance working on the protection and sustainable use of Top End coasts since 2014. With a strong community base of 8,500 Territory supporters and the same number following our dedicated efforts on social media, we take pride in our decade-long history of advocating for the health of our coasts.
Our coasts are the heart of our Top End lifestyle, where fishing, family, and culture come together. Visitors travel from Australia and the world to experience our wild, iconic coastline and free-flowing rivers. Top End coasts contribute $2billion to the economy each year and support more than 6,000 jobs. But their health is under threat.
Our fishing in places like Darwin Harbour is not as good as it used to be. Pollution, mangrove loss and unchecked industrial development are putting pressure on the places we love. We need to act now if we are to safeguard our marine life and Top End lifestyle.
