A new report exposes the declining health of our Darwin Harbour and the failure of successive governments to protect our coastal backyard.
This ABC News story paints a concerning picture. Fishing Guide for over 30 years, Jason Rogers, has seen a decline in the numbers of fish they’re able to catch. He says “a lot of these big companies do damage and walk away… and we’re left with the detriment of it”.
Now, new big and dirty industrial developments are proposed for the middle of the Harbour, covering 600 hectares, equivalent to 350 football fields
We need urgent action to safeguard our Harbour. Until the draft 2019 Darwin Harbour Strategy is finalised, and its Implementation Plan developed, the Harbour has an uncertain future.
