Imagine, if you will, that the time is in the early 1950s and that the Southern Pacific railroad is routing its traffic between Portland, Oregon and Ogden, Utah over the Oregon, California and Eastern rather than over the Modoc Line. Klamath Falls, Oregon is at the west end of the OC & E and Lakeview, Oregon is at the east end.
In this series you will see four trains: two freight trains, and two passenger trains. The passenger trains will overtake the freights and you will see meets between the various trains.
In parts one and two the passenger trains have crossed the OC & E and are continuing to their respective destinations of Portland and Ogden.
Part three starts with freight train 4197 at Quartz Mountain summit and train 4115 beginning the climb from Sprague to Quartz.
