Somalisa Expeditions - Hwange NP - Zimbabwe

Somalisa Expeditions is part of the African Bush Camps portfolio of camps. The Expeditions Camps are their lower tier camps, but still very comfortable and a nice genuine safari experience. At the camp there are 6 rooms, two of these are linked so can be used as a family unit if needed. There is the central dining and living area which has a wi-fi connection and a small plunge pool with the important elephant drinking pool as well right there. It is amazing being right there next to a herd of elephants drinking while you lie on a sun lounger 5metres away.
The food and drinks menu I think would suit most people coming on safari and the staff are all very helpful in trying to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We did have a few maintenance issues that were all attended to with a smile, but they did seem obvious so you wonder why not attended to before we arrived, but not a big deal and my guests have always enjoyed this camp. In terms of safari activities you have the Day and Night Game drives as an option and Bush Walks but these are done more as a set activity as opposed to something that could happen during any game drive. They also have access to a couple of platforms and hides within their concession and if booked ahead they also have a platform that you can use as a sleep out star-bed platform for the night, a great thing to consider especially on a moonlit night Access to the camp is normally by charter flight from the other parks but it is also possible to drive here from Victoria Falls which would take at least 6hrs to do that with the last few hours from the park entrance would be a game drive.
