TRIP REPORT | Emirates Excellence Over the Atlantic | New York to Milan | Emirates A380

Emirates Trip Report flying from New York to Milan onboard one of the Emirates Airbus A380 on a beautiful night over the Atlantic and sunny spring day over Europe.

An extremely comfortable flight across the Atlantic from New York to Milan onboard the Emirates Airbus A380-800. I know I said it a lot of times... but it is just the reality: flying with Emirates is flying to the absolute next level.

Once again, the cabin crew was extremely kind, the food really tasty, the space on the seat was great and the cabin on the A380 is just perfect. If you take any of those alone, is great. But if mix them all together on a single flight... well, that's Emirates.

About the flight itself, after a nice planespotting session at New York Kennedy airport, we headed to the boarding gate. To my surprise, we were going to board the A380 by bus! It was something completely new for me. However, it didn't look like the best idea when we realized how it was raining outside. Later on, the captain told us that the jetways on the usual gate were not working. So bus and stairs were the only options available.

We took off from New York JFK under a very heavy rainstorm. We just could see through the window for around 30 seconds after lift-off. Then, we entered the clouds until the Sunrise. As always, I've set my alarm for the estimated time of Sunrise... and it paid off! What an amazing experience to see the sunrise over the Atlantic on an A380! After that, we flew to the south of Ireland and the United Kingdom; entered France over the Brest area; overflown Paris, including some stunning views of the Eiffel Tower; and crossed the Alps, already in descent to Milan Malpensa airport.

As said before, the Emirates catering service is top class. Every single Emirates meal looks special. For this flight, I had a chicken barbeque with mashed potatoes and vegetables. First was a chickpea salad and the dessert was a 3 chocolates delice. After the meal, I asked for another dessert and I had it on my table in less than 50 seconds! It was just amazing.
