Upcycling KIMONO OBI Into a Tote BAG 👜 DIY Kimono Remake Beginner Sewing Project

Upcycling a vintage silk fukuro obi into a stylish tote bag!👜 This silver and cream obi has beautiful cloud, wave, and fan motifs and came from a bundle I received a while back. 📦

In this episode, I wash and prep the obi fabric, make a lining with floral quilting cotton, create handles from leftover silk backing, and sew everything into a unique and cute tote bag.

I followed a tutorial (linked below) but made several design changes along the way. I love letting the materials guide the process, the colors, embroidery, and patterns always inspire the final shape.
