Salted Caramel Swiss Buttercream Recipe (Without Caramel Sauce)

This is a simplified technique for making salted caramel Swiss Meringue Buttercream. Forgoing the usual method of adding salted caramel sauce to a buttercream, I used powdered caramel to make the meringue.
My approach allows for more direct experimentation and alterations to the recipe, as it cuts out a separate component with its own ingredient composition.
Salted Caramel SMBC
85g egg whites
200g sugar -175g caramel powder*
1/8tsp cream of tartar
232g softened, unsalted butter
3g salt
1/2tsp vanilla extract
