Take a look at this silvopasture planting, now in its third growing season, to see what methods worked to make it so successful. While most projects planting trees in pastures generally have very high rates of tree loss (90% tends to be the rule, not the exception) we've been able to get 90% or more of these trees to not only survive after 3 years, but thrive, as you'll see. It's not rocket science, but there's a couple key things to do in order to protect trees in an actively grazed system.
