Thanks for watching! Leave a like if you enjoyed and sub for more!
My apologies for being gone for so long. I had a ton of things to do and also went on a cycling trip along the Western Front in France where I got to see the iconic battlefield with my own eyes. I had an amazing time and have tons of new ideas for new videos so stay tuned!
Thanks to everyone who participated in the event and helped making it happen, especially to the hosts: Biggalloot and Leo.

The History:
At the outbreak of the war, former British colonies Australia and New Zealand rushed to Britains aid. Large groups of young men enlisted in the army to help overseas. Men who were often born in the UK themselves or their parents. Together, the two nations formed the ANZAC corps and would see their first action at Gallipoli. The landings there turned out to be disastrous and after 8 months of heavy losses, the forces retreated from the peninsula. In the year after, they were sent to France were they learned the horrors of the western front and suffered heavy losses at Fromelles and Pozieres during the battle of the Somme. The ANZAC corps became an elite force of capable warriors who were often the first to go "over the top" and charge into the enemy, taking the first lines. They would play a vital role during the battle of Passchendaele in capturing the Broodseinde and Passchendaele ridges. After the third battle of Ypres (Passchendaele) they could not replace the losses due to the absence of conscription in Australia and they were forced to disband the Corps and were divided between other British armies with whom they would serve another year and be a crucial part during the hundred days offensive. The Great War played a huge role in the history of the nations and helped shaping their national identity and pride.
