BAF MOTORSPORT K-BRACE INSTALL! | FOCUS RS

I install the K-Brace from BAF Motorsport

This is a huge 4 point brace that I had specced in red to really pop visually as well as perform to the max!

Lots of colour options are available and BAF Motorsport will even custom paint the K Brace if you want it matched to something like The MK3 Focus RS exclusive paint, nitrous blue, for example.

Despite being a large strut brace in the rear of car, the boot / trunk, the way that BAF Motorsport have designed it, the K Brace does not take up much of the usable space in the boot as it is angled to match the rear seats and so the car boot can still function - especially important if you use your Focus RS for every day use!

The installation involves a couple of different fixing types. One that is a replacement, extended bolt and nut setup that replaces the forward most rear strut studs and then the others are bolts that bolt into rivnuts, which are like a rivet /nut hybrid, that we need to drill holes for in the floor of the boot area.

This part is understandably scary for some - who likes the idea of drilling holes in your car?!
It really isn't so bad though, measuring carefully and accurately and then drilling carefully before installing the rivnuts, leaves a very neat and really rather excellent solution to provide two additional fixing points!

BAF Motorsport provide a rivnut tool which is a really innovative yet simple design that allows the rivnuts to be installed without the need for an expensive tool to be purchased, which is super cool!

After securing the K Brace into my MK3 Ford Focus RS, it is clear that it is a very solid solution so will provide an excellent improvement in performance!

The last part of the installation is another slightly scary thing for some - it is necessary to trim both the foam inserts and the false floor in order to fit them around the K-Brace. If all the scary stuff ins't for you, there is an option that BAF Motorsport provide which is a 2 point strut brace so one that is just the top bar essentially, so check that out too!

I am super happy with the end result - I think I got all the finishing work done nice and neat and it really looks awesome!
