Done in the style of a traditional Irish Folk song. This song is about Cú Chulainn, an Irish warrior hero and demigod in the Ulster Cycle of Irish mythology.
Lyrics:
Four provinces against the one, the host of Connacht stands
With ten thousand spears of iron held in ten thousand trembling hands
But at the ford, the single Hound has held the gap alone
Till the marrow of his spirit turns to fire in the bone
The pressure of the army makes the hero-vessel break
One eye in, and one eye out
The silent tongue, the inner shout
Turn the heel and twist the knee
What was a man no more shall be
They call it Ríastrad in the North, the twisting of the light
A shifting of the sacred skin that hides the man from sight
The heat of it would melt the snow for thirty paces round
As the logic of the body is spilled upon the ground
The man becomes a mountain that the host cannot pass by
One eye in, and one eye out
The silent tongue, the inner shout
Turn the heel and twist the knee
What was a man no more shall be
It is the price of standing fast
It is the human made the last
The warp. The turn. The bone. The burn.
