Concerned Thabong residents in Welkom are demanding more police visibility in their area after seven people were shot at a local tavern and one person died. So far, two suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting while two others are still at large. A group of men in the community have now formed an organisation to fight increasing gangsterism in the area.
