Улыбка пророка || Олег Воскобойников

Средневековое искусство часто кажется излишне страдающим, плачущим, рыдающим и даже рвущим на себе волосы. Но в этом искусстве, начиная одного конкретного памятника, нашлось место улыбке. В 1188 году мастер Матео закончил создание великолепного портала базилики собора Святого Якова в Компостеле. Среди фигур, которые украшают этот портал, есть пророк Даниил, и на его лице играет улыбка. Почему он один улыбается, а остальные нет? Расследование ведет историк Олег Воскобойников.
