Around 2pm on July 23rd, 2025, firefighters were dispatched to multiple calls reporting a structure fire in South San Jose with heavy smoke and flames seen. Crews from Station 9, who were first due on this call, reported smoke showing from their station and called for a second alarm seconds after Station 9 Equipment (Engine 9 and Truck 9) arrived on scene and gave out their sizeup. As the fire continued to grow and eventually spreading into another house next door, a third alarm was called and crews shifted into a defensive strategy temporarily then went back offensive once Truck 9’s and Truck 13’s Aerial Master Streams knocked down the bulk of the fire.
