In this video, we investigate the source of Ideas. Deleuze moves away from traditional philosophical accounts of ideas as a passage from the hypothetical to the apodictic by reframing them as a movement from the problematic to the question. Rather than the Cogito and a moral imperative this gives us the unconscious (an ‘ungrounding’) and a metaphysical imperative that turns out to have its origin in the re-commencement that is repetition. Finally, we address the way problems have been mistaken for hypotheses and the illusion that results from this abstract, representational way of thinking that non-being is negation.
