Swartkop Air Show will always be referred to as the Swartkop Airshow even though the name of the Airbase has been changed to “Mobile Air Wing”. Swartkop is located to the South of Pretoria. This show is held annually in May.
The Swartkop air show is the primary fundraising event for the South African Air Force Museum located at this air base. Therefore, a healthy crowd attendance is essential.
This video is not only a strung together bunch of still photos, but a lot of effort has been made to supply interesting data paired with the actual sounds made by these airplanes. If you become familiar with these sounds, you should be able to guess quite accurately what kind of plane passes overhead without having seen it.
