This Is Why We Truck Camp | Natural Hot Springs

We chased a winter storm into the Eastern Sierras, fought deep snow to find camp, and ended the night soaking in hidden hot springs under a full moon.
My buddy Charly and I pushed through heavy snowfall and deep drifts, facing a few challenges just getting onto the trail. After multiple recoveries and some careful driving, we made our way onto Owens River Road and followed a snow-covered trail in search of a hidden hot spring and a place to camp for the night.
As the sun dropped behind the mountains, we finally found the perfect spot. Steam rose from the hot springs as the cold settled in, and the contrast of hot water and winter air made the long drive completely worth it. We soaked, relaxed, and took in the quiet of the Sierra backcountry.
Later that night, we fired up camp and cooked Wagyu beef burgers, enjoyed a few warm cocktails by the fire, and watched the full moon rise over the snowy mountains. It was one of those trips that reminds you why you head out into the cold in the first place — peace, adventure, and good company.
This trip was all about embracing winter conditions, adapting to the challenges, and enjoying the simple moments that come with camping in the snow.
