This video is about building fitness habits that last and the process of changing your habits. First, there’s a difference between fitness habits and holistic health habits. The term “fitness habit” describes the routines that contribute to the strength, health and performance of the body. Yet there are secondary habits that indirectly affect your physical fitness. Habits that affect your mood, cognition, and spiritual connection also play into your physical performance and energy output.
Understanding the process of habit formation is crucial for creating long term change, both inside and outside the gym. Stopping a bad habit or starting a good habit is similar to quitting an addiction. The initial phase of changing your daily routine requires commitment and considerable action on your part. Depending on the degree of lifestyle changes you’re making, this transition can be very uncomfortable, even painful. Adopting a new way of life creates fear and anxiety so it’s important to lean into the discomfort of doing something different.
The two main habits for ensuring that you stick to self improvement long term are: learning how to stick to a meal plan, and practicing NoFap or semen retention. These are also two of the biggest fitness habits for getting results in the gym as far as muscle gains and weight lifting performance. Building these fitness habits is the catalyst for improving each area of your life that needs work. Building self discipline sticking to fitness habits will translate into the other goals you have outside the gym.
If you are in a position where you haven’t made progress in a while, challenge yourself to step up. Be honest about the habits that are blocking your progress and start making better choices. Improving your habits requires a degree of self awareness, which you develop by meditating and having a relationship with God.
