In the mid-1800's history, Railroads were spreading across the country, stealing business away from canals, and running into deep, seemingly insurmountable river gorges. Modern bridges can be kind of.... blah, but in the middle of the 19th century, there were some incredible stone structures, rivaling their European counterparts, built to cross these valleys.
Join me as I explore at Tinkers Creek Falls, where the railroad started with a wooden bridge before moving to an beautiful stone viaduct, still partially visible today.
