The music ministry at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church was started by and garnered a national reputation for musical excellence under the late Sis. Rilma "Kathy" Thibodeaux (1950-2003). "Kathy", also a charter member of Fellowship, served as its first Minister of Music and continued labouring in that capacity for over two decades.
In 1999, Sis. Rilma Thibodeaux invited her friend, the late Min. Ronald Materre (1954-2017), to conduct a Gospel music workshop and Sis. Catherine J. Wright was the guest soloist. Min. Dwight Franklin accompanies her on the organ (as ONLY he can!!). Both Wright and Franklin are natives of New Orleans.
Materre was a native of Metairie, LA who became a respected and renowned Gospel musician in Houston, Texas.
